L&M Babil'de Ölüm İstanbul'da Aşk

 

Einstein'ın Son Sırrı Foucault Sarkacı Da Vinci Şifresi Shakespeare Sırrı Jane Austen Hayatımı Mahvetti Kutsal Kefen... ünlü bir yapıt, eşya ya da kişi üzerinden kurgulanan bir sırra ulaşan kişilerin sırrı çözmek ve sırrın peşindekilere av olmamak için verdikleri maceralar. Tüm bu kitaplardan farklı olarak "Babil'de Ölüm İstanbul'da Aşk" hikayeyi kişilerin değil herkesin peşinde olduğu, Fuzuli'nin kendisine emanet edilen sırrı işlediği "Leya ile Mecnun" mesnevisi kitaptan dinliyoruz. Kitap bir çok tarihi karakteri kapsarken, yüzyıllar boyunca dünyadaki değişimi de özetliyor.

La ultima respuesta, foucault's pendulum, The Da Vinci Code The Shakspeare Secret, Jane Austen Ruined My Life The Brotherhood of the Holy Shroud All are written inspired some historical events, famous people or their works. Unlike them “Death in Babylon Love in Istanbul (Babil'de Ölüm İstanbul'da Aşk)” by İskener Pala tells the story through the books mouth that carries the secret of Babylon to us. Fużūlī (1494 – 1556),  poet, writer and thinker, trusted the secret of Babylon from a librarian in Bagdad. He buries the secret to mesnevi “Dâstân-ı Leylî vü Mecnun” (a mesnevî which takes as its subject the classical Middle Eastern love story of Layla and Majnun). We follow the journay of the book from hands to hands of Babylon Organization members, treasure hunters, and people who the book ends with by chance and has no idea about the secrets it helds. Among all the adventures we also listen the love from the book that calls himself Qais (Majnun) and yearning for his Layla.

It took time to hook on to "The Time Regulation Institute" but it was easy to finish. While reading i thought this would be a good fantastic movie criticizing public.   

"Of Mice and Men" the end is as I expected and as I didn't expected.

Ottoman Period Mediterrian World

I finished reading Ottoman Period Mediterrian World. It was a book arranged by the documents based on official records in islands of Mediterranean Sea. It gives information about the populations, social life, wars and politic subjects.

Even if it was hard to keep up with it for me since it was an academic work it was nice to learn more about Ottoman term life and different things from history after the simple knowladge given in schools.


There was this part where the people was happy when Ottoman was beaten and had to leave the Morean Island to Republic of Venice and then when their freedom which they had during Ottoman managment was taken away this time they asks help from Ottoman aganist Venice.

長い間読んでいたJean-Paul Rouxの本「歴史のトルコ人」をやっと読み終えました。
それは私にはあまりに複雑でした。
本のほとんどを思い出しません。

Sonunda uzun zamandır elimde dolaşıp duran kitabı Jean-Paul Roux'un Türk Tarihi adlı kitabını bitirebildim. Kitap, tarihin en eski Türk milleti ile başlayıp Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kuruluşuna kadar geliryor. Bir çok isim, uygarlık, tarih.... Çoğunu anımsamıyorum bile. Arada bir kaç kez tekrarlanmış bölümler de var. Tarih bir ileri bir geri gidip geliyor. O nedenle biraz karmaşık buldum. Ve yazar bazen tarafsız gibi görünmeye çalışsa da bazı zamanlarda bu tarafsızlığını Türkler aleyhine kaybediyor. "En büyük Türkler" havasında biri değilimdir ama yine de bazen yazarın kendi doğru kabule ttiği görüşünden sıyrılmak istemediği kanaatine vardım.

Ustam ve Ben, Elif Şafak

The story begins with an elephant sitter guy's getting into the Ottoman Palace and being one of the apprentice of Sinan, one of the biggest architects of Ottoman Empire. Even if I got to the end hard by forcing myself to end it, reading this was more enjoyable than Efsane, which was about a time of Ottomon Empire's navy. The story gave me the taste of known fantasy point of view to the Ottomon Empire that used a lot in books or movies.

I admit I fast forward reading this book, skipped some parts and just read the end. It has been really hard to read a book with interest lately...
I get annoyed reading the characters struggling with their lives. I find it stupid they can't see what they should do. I wonder how my life would look  like from another person's eyes.
